John Horky, FAIA, launched "Ripples, by design" LLC in 2022, to support designers and design firms to explore, express and expand their ripples. John strives to better align designers' strategic focus and energies; connect designers with aligned firms, mentors, experts and other resources; and to assist designers who are underrepresented in the design professions. An AIA architect since 1986, John was a Principal and the Director of HR at Kahler Slater for 23 years, and instrumental in the firm’s recognition as a national Best Place to Work for 14 years. John received the 2021 AIA Wisconsin Golden Award.

Fellow’s Forum: Regenerative Design
Worldwide responses to climate change are failing to match the speed and significance of the overlapping crises we face now and in the foreseeable future. Architects can / must make a difference. The AIA WI Fellows seek to convene attendees interested in the co-generation of sustainably responsive and holistic design approaches. We will moderate this exploration through the topics of public policy, building technology, and research / education. Come prepared to share your insights, experiences, and best practices, and collaborate in the generation of strategies and tactics that can make a difference.
